Update: History Section

1834_to_1864_Historic_Trail_Map_Sequoia

For all those who enjoy history, a new link to a map has been added in the History section. The map shows trail routes between the years of 1834 to 1864. Notice some of the routes are now highways. Clicking on the image will produce a higher resolution picture of the map to download.

For fun you may want to get a modern map and see where your trip into the Golden Trout Wilderness aligns with these historical routes. A lot of these trails still exist and are still used today! Some of the history behind these trails can be read in the History section. Enjoy!

Very pleased to find you! No tour of the Sierras is complete without a trip to the Golden Trout Wilderness. I’ve had many memorable hikes there and Domeland. Wish you the best.
