Springville, Calif., March 24, 2014—For Immediate Release
Efforts were made over the weekend to extinguish the Soda Fire, burning in the Golden Trout Wilderness in Sequoia National Forest. Natural barriers and previously burned areas were utilized as fire line where possible. In areas with active fire, it was burning with low intensity similar to what is pictured here. A few areas were burned to consume light fuels to stop the fire from spreading any further near fire lines. Firefighters expect to have the fire line completed today and in patrol status by the end of the week.
