Fire Restrictions Effective on May 21, 2014

Fire restrictions are going to be in place starting May 21, 2014 for the Sequoia National Forest. Last year there were two types of fire restrictions released. One was limiting camp fires to designated camp grounds and wilderness areas. Later in the summer months a second round of fire restrictions were released excluding any campfire within the National Forest.

This time around the fire restrictions are limiting fire use to designated camping areas and wilderness areas. It was signed by the Forest Supervisor and will go into effect on May 21, 2014. Please see the attached PDF for more information about the restrictions. Any questions about these fire restrictions should be directed to the Sequoia National Forest. You can call their main office at 559-784-1500. Dial extension “0” for the front desk and they will direct your call/questions.
