This past weekend was perfect weather for backpacking into the Golden Trout Wilderness. However, did you know Memorial Day weekend is one of the busiest times for all National Forests and Parks? Some of you may have plans to get into the wilderness this weekend. Just remember to check the weather before going.
Weather this week has a chance to produce snow for the next couple of days. The weather service predicts around 1 to 3 inches of snow at 7,000 feet and above. Not sure if this will temporarily close roads, but the trails at this elevation and above could likely be “wetter” for the weekend. However, nothing like a bit of fresh air on a hike, right? Anyway, it is recommend you continue to check the weather up to the point of leaving for your trip.
If you did go out this past weekend, consider sharing your adventure with other users on the site. You could also submit a trail report so others can know what to expect when they head out into the wilderness this weekend.
