Mark Calendar: Volunteer Opportunity

Looking to do more than just backpacking this summer season? Why not try combining a backpacking trip with volunteer trail work? Interested? Good. Head on over to the High Sierra Volunteer Trail Crew (HSVTC) site and register (Free). Once you register, you can sign up for the first trip along the Long Meadow Trail in the Golden Trout Wilderness. The trail is located on the Sequoia National Forest side of the wilderness and is a popular place to access Summit Lake. Trip starts Memorial Day weekend. Check it out HERE.

Some of you may have ventured on that trial last summer. Did you notice some of the tread repair, the meadow causeways, or rock steps? Those were all done by volunteers from the HSVTC.
