Proof that Your Trail Reports Matter

Down Tree on 33E20

Remember this photo? A backpacker by the name of Scotty submitted a report indicating a down tree along trail 33E20. Thanks to that user members of the United Trail Maintainers of California came in to remove the down tree. Beth Pfieler, from United Trail Maintainers of California, posted on our Facebook page about the tree’s removal. Thank you!

Your trail reports do matter and will help others enjoy the wilderness. If you come across a down tree please report it and remember to indicate the size. If you can and safely do so, put a hat down or an object beside the tree to help indicate the size (aka diameter). The crews will know how big and what type of saw to carry back there as chainsaw use is illegal in the wilderness.
