Looks like the crews were able to keep the fire from spreading. According to the fire’s inciweb page, it has been held at 1/4 of an acre with a perimeter secured. Below is a statement from about an hour ago.
The North Fire was discovered late in the day on Wednesday June 10th burning in a lightning-struck tree northeast of Wishon Campground on the Western Divide Ranger District in Giant Sequoia National Monument, Sequoia National Forest. Crews hiked into the fire on June 11th and were able to secure the perimeter to slow the spread of the fire. The Fire is 1/4 acre in size with heavy fuels in the middle that will take a few days for firefighters to extinguish completely. A map of the fire can be found on this site under the maps tab. As of June 17th, the North fire is being patrolled to check for any flare ups, action will be taken as needed.
