Water Update for Sequoia NF GTW

Latest water source information (August 22 to 24) has come for those wanting to hike on the Sequoia National Forest side of the Golden Trout Wilderness. If you are heading down into the Little Kern River area, then you may want to know this especially for hunters and late summer backpacking.

Alpine Creek – Flowing well near confluence with Little Kern River

Little Kern River – Flowing great near confluence with Alpine Creek and west of Lions Meadow.

Sheep Creek – Flowing

Noname Creek – Dry

Willow Creek – Flowing

Tamarack Creek – Flowing

Clicks Creek – Flowing

Soda Springs Creek – Flowing

Conditions now look similar a lot more typical for August in the GTW. What was observed August 22 to 24, 2016 was similar to early June’s water report of 2015 (worse year of the drought).
