The Hidden Fire continues to creep around and grow in size. The wildfire is at 10% containment right now. Total acreage is approximately 2,740 acres. See the report below from InciWeb.
The Hidden Fire, burning along the eastside of Mountain Home Demonstration State Forest, and inside the Golden Trout Wilderness, Sequoia National Forest hasn’t grown beyond the 2,739 acres.
Portions of the fire received precipitation, fire activity was very low. Depending upon fuel moisture conditions tomorrow, aerial ignition may continue in the Burro Creek drainage for an additional 2,000 acres.
Smoke production was significantly reduced, impacts to communities from smoke settling into the Tule River drainage should be minimal.
The Forest Service and CAL FIRE continue working together to confine and contain the Hidden Fire to a designated area across both jurisdictions while ensuring firefighter and public safety.
Fire officials are working daily with air quality specialists to monitor particulate matter from smoke and share that information with the public, as well as advise them of precautions they can take to reduce their exposure.
