The Golden Trout Wilderness is managed between two different National Forests; Inyo and Sequoia. The Inyo National Forest manages the land east of the Kern River and the Sequoia National Forest manages the west of the Kern River.
Generally the Inyo side of the wilderness is at an higher elevation. Large meadows, dormant volcanoes, and some of the purists strands of Golden Trout can be found in this area of the wilderness. Ready to start exploring? Pick how long you would like to hike around for below.
