Volunteers Unite!

A few outdoor volunteer groups teamed up this past month to protect the historical Trout Meadow Guard Station from being crushed by a dead tree. The guard station is located on the Sequoia National Forest side of the Golden Trout Wilderness in Trout Meadow. Volunteers from Wilderness Corps, United Trail Maintainers of California, and Backcountry Horsemen of California worked together to make sure it was done safely and effectively. One photo is shown below, but if you want to see more check out the links that follow. One is even a video!

We used a TU28 griphoist to pull the tree against its lean.

Thank you for the hard work in preserving some of the history in the Golden Trout Wilderness. Thank you Beth for sharing the photos and videos.
