Roads Begin to Open

Roads are starting to open allowing easier access to the Golden Trout Wilderness. Right now the  Lloyd Meadow Road, 21S82, to Jerkey Meadow Trailhead is open. This road gains access to the southern most area of the wilderness on the Sequoia National Forest side.

At this time, the only way to access the Lloyd Meadow road is by driving up the Kern Canyon from Kernville. Once the passes, Western Divide and Parker, open, then users will have more ways to access the Lloyd Meadow Road. As always, it is recommended  you call one of the offices prior to leaving for your trip for the latest road conditions during this time of the year.
